KONE seeks new apprentice talent

February 21, 2012

KONE confirms its search is on for new apprentice talent by launching its 2012 national Apprenticeship drive.

KONE provides Peopleflow solutions as one of the world’s leading lift, escalator, Doors and Loading Bay specialists and employs more than 35,000 people worldwide.

The 2012 campaign was launched at the KONE GB Annual Apprentice Awards Ceremony which was held during National Apprentice Week to celebrate the success of Apprentices currently undertaking the KONE Apprentice Scheme.

KONE shared details of the Career paths available to its employees as well as development and training opportunities within its Technical field based roles, Sales and general management teams.

Michael Williams, KONE GB managing director said: “In times of economic uncertainty, talent is often one of the first things to be lost, much to the detriment of businesses. When addressing the 30 Apprentices and parents in attendance at the awards ceremony Michael said, “the future of the company is in this room.”

"KONE is more than 100 years old and has always recognized that maintaining the flow of apprentices into the company is the right thing to do. We’re delighted to be able to continue our commitment to nurturing young talent in the UK. ”

KONE recognised the achievements of its current Apprentices and awarded both Peter Hook and Ciaran Quinn as Apprentice of the Year for their hard work, customer focus and dedication to KONE’s values.

A firm believer in promoting best practice, Michael believes that it is not just businesses that benefit from recruiting young talent, adding; “KONE has a reputation of being innovative and forward thinking.  Part of this is delivered through the ideas and vibrancy that young talent brings to the company.”
