KONE wins another impressive order in London

KONE received a major order from Sir Robert McAlpine to supply all elevators and escalators for the Watermark Place project in the City of London.

Image_News-watwermark-palace-247x197The building complex consists of high-quality office and retail space totaling 49,200 square meters (530,000 sq ft). Located next to the River Thames and enlivened with cafes, bars and restaurants, the Watermark Place will provide the largest public riverside space in London.

The Watermark Place will be equipped with 20 elevators and 6 escalators. The installation of the equipment will start in June 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in April 2009. The developers of the project are Watermark Place Oxford One Investment Limited, UBS Global Asset Management and City Offices. The architect is Fletcher Priest Architects.

Watermark Place follows KONE’s recent successes in the London area such as the 201 Bishopsgate building, the Broadgate Tower, the BP2 building, the One New Change retail complex, the Leadenhall Building and the Walbrook project.
