Little things matter in safety

We are strongly committed to safety and work closely with the people who rely on our products for safe and smooth transport as they go about their day. One way we promote safety is by organising annual events that give people the opportunity to get to know how lifts, escalators and doors operate and how to use them safely.

Enhancing lift, escalator and doors safety is a joint effort. Technology providers must manufacture equipment that meets applicable codes and standards. Building owners and maintenance service providers have a responsibility to make sure the equipment is professionally maintained and kept in good condition.

Lift, escalator and doors users also need to pay attention to their own behaviour. For example, children should be properly supervised when using both lifts and escalators and large items such as baby strollers, heavy luggage, or shopping carts should not be transported on escalators.

Just squeezing through to get in quick? Pressing the button would be faster and safer. We at KONE design our solutions with safety as a top priority, but we should all pay attention to the little things that matter in safety.

Child’s play is harmless. Unless it happens in the wrong place. We at KONE design our solutions with safety as a top priority, but escalators and autowalks are not playgrounds. Let’s teach children about the little things in safety.
