For students and graduates we offer both global and local challenges such as apprenticeships and trainee positions, thesis work and entry-level jobs. In our multicultural working environment you can gain experience that is valued worldwide.


At KONE apprentices follow a defined three or four-year training programme following the Engineering NVQ, which will enable them to become qualified lift or escalator engineers.

In the UK we offer more than 30 apprenticeship placements each year. Apprenticeships are an excellent starting point for a KONE career and offer interesting challenges and opportunities.

Our apprenticeship programme lasts three to four years. Apprentices typically follow the Engineering National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) course, which will enable them to become a qualified lift or escalator engineer.

We offer a wide range of work opportunities for new graduates at KONE. We also provide induction and training to complement your education. At KONE you start with real projects from day one. Working with experienced colleagues helps you develop your skills. KONE is an innovative company – we value new ideas and new thinking.

We are looking for people who are motivated to learn and develop. This is the place to start if you are looking for interesting and challenging assignments, and if you want to bring new ideas to our business. Some examples of entry-level roles include: Customer Service Agent, Sales Assistant/Executive, Tender Repair Specialist, and Credit Controller.

We work actively with educational institutions to share and develop competence through research work, traineeships, thesis projects and other business projects. Local KONE units also participate in local career fairs and other student events at our partner schools.

Partnerships with world-class universities

We have formed close relationships with the technology and business faculties of many world-class universities and student organisations. KONE is one of the corporate partners of CEMS (the Global Alliance of in Management Education) which comprises 33 world-class academic institutions. Combining the resources of leading universities and corporations CEMS is dedicated to educating and preparing future generations of international business.

In management development we cooperate with management and business schools to develop strategic thinking among other leadership competencies. For upper-level management development we work together with IMD Business School in Switzerland.
